The new metasurface-based antenna harvests energy from the air.

The idea of the transmit electricity through the air in the form of radio waves is not new. Nikola Tesla made experiments with that thing by using the famous Wardenclyffe tower. The problem with those experiments that Tesla made between the years 1901-1906 was that the technology was not advanced enough. Tesla's idea was to use tesla coils to make the power transmission. 

The thing that made Tesla's experiments unsuccessful. Was that the radio transmitter that he used could aim the radio waves. And that thing caused the electric arcs in the air. Today that thing can fix by using the radio-masers. The radio masers are sending very well-aimed radio rays through the air. and that thing makes it possible to send electricity to small robots and drones through the air. The thing that makes this kind of system interesting is that it can use for sending data like control orders to drones at the same time when they are sending electricity for its system.

There is made an experiment by using lasers and targeted radio waves or radio masers to transmit energy for the drones and small robots. The remote-load system makes it possible to create drones that can fly virtually forever. That remote electric transmitting systems can use in plasma-jet-based hypersonic aircraft. The fact is that the power of electric transmit determines the size of what this system can move. 

The new metasurface-based antenna can harvest energy from the radio waves. This antenna can use also in very sensitive radio systems that are capturing weak radio signals. That kind of antenna can deliver energy for simply low-power radio and other systems. But if the radio waves are transmitted to that antenna in purpose. The system can create more power. In that case, the system can use wireless power transmission. And even megawatts can transmit through the air.

It is also possible to connect the batteries to a series or side-by-side. And that makes them possible to create more power for electric circuits. 

The wireless energy transmit can use for giving electricity to drone swarms as well as electric jet engines. That kind of system can use high-power radio masers for delivering electricity for those systems that can fly virtually unlimited. But if the power of energy transmission is high enough even ships and cars can move with that kind of system. 

If the antenna is using multiple extremely thin layers. There is possible to use the Casimir effect for improving energy harvesting. This system could use natural radio waves for delivering energy for nanotechnology-based computers.

But the thing that makes the new metasurface-based radio antennas interesting is that this method can use to send electricity to probes. That is traveling at the edge of the solar system. In dreams, there is the possibility to make a spacecraft. That has a multi-layer core. This core can harvest energy from cosmic radio transmissions by using the Casimir effect.

The core can combine zero-point energy systems with the radio harvester. The zero-point energy system makes it possible that the spacecraft will pull the radiowaves in it. And that antenna layer will harvest it. This kind of power source can open our road outside our solar system. And even if the stars might be a little bit too far. That system can deliver energy for the radio telescopes that might someday hover outside the Kuiper belt and research cosmic hum.
