The Chengdu J-20S is the newest piece of art in combat aircraft designs. That first two-seat 5th generation fighter is capable of cooperating and controlling drone swarms. And that makes this kind of system special. Those drones can also share intelligence data from their targets.
The ability to communicate with different types of drones gives this jet fighter the ability to attack individual persons. Almost pocket-sized kamikaze and recon drones can be more feared tools than anybody expected. The stealth fighter that drops those systems into the area can turn them into assassination tools. And those systems give the aircraft and even intercontinental missiles the ability to make surgical attacks against the government's enemies.
And the other thing is that those drones can take out enemy AA installations precisely at the critical moment. The problem with drone swarms is that those systems are becoming more advanced. The drone swarms can cooperate in many ways with the full-size aircraft. The drone swarm can involve many drone types. And the swarm can include larger Shahed-type drones that attack larger targets. And the smaller kamikaze drones that can disturb and cause fear in the AA crews.
"The J-20S’s potential role includes acting as a tactical node within China’s “loyal wingman” program, through which the rear seat operator could direct multiple UAVs in reconnaissance, surveillance, interference, or strike operations. Equipped with the PL-15E and PL-10E missiles, it is designed for a range of tasks, including ground strikes and controlling drone operations from the air. "Some sources suggest that once operational, the J-20S could bring changes to training exercises and air combat tactics within the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), adapting to networked and data-driven battlefield conditions. Notably, the J-20S is thought to be the first fifth-generation two-seat fighter officially unveiled, positioning it as a distinctive asset within China's evolving air force strategy." Large drones or advanced cruise missiles can also fly alongside jet fighters. When the system detects things like AA batteries, those drones can attack them. The ability to cooperate with large-sized kamikaze drones and the robot fighter drones gives those new stealth fighters new abilities. Small drones can also deliver the target data to other systems.
The Shahed-type drones can carry those smaller drones to the operational area, and then those miniature drones attack the cannons and their crews. The drone swarms that travel in multiple altitudes at different speeds can be very hard targets for defenders. And things like anti-personnel drones can also destroy things like electric infrastructure.
The biggest threat in the Ukraine war is that Western electronics allow Russians to develop new versions of Shahed drones. The large drone can carry smaller drones that can cause damage to the helicopters and aircraft. The new microchips can also give small drones the ability to search and destroy targets independently.
The drone can drop near an airbase and when it recognizes the target that system can attack it. Drones can also act as loitering ammunition against enemy convoys. Deliver systems that can be bombers, missile aircraft, or other drones that can drop them into the forests or enemy supply lines. When those drones see targets they can attack them as swarms.
